The name of our primary language product has been changed to that of our original working title, V
Delta, barring any copyright or trademark issues. We feel that this name better reflects our position as a ground-breaking new language, albeit one with ancestral roots in the Plato project that was done under a federal grant to the University of Illinois in the 1960's.
For those of you who have read our business plan which uses the name TenCORE Net: It had originally been our intention to purchase the name TenCORE from Computer Teaching Corporation. (TenCORE's roots were also in the Plato system developed at the U. of I.) Among other considerations, there was brand confusion with KLA-Tencor, a company who makes computerized process controllers.
In mathematics,
(Delta) is the symbol for a change. We think it is an appropriate name for a language that represents such significant innovation. As for the "v," think of it as "velocity." The language makes it possible for users to make big changes very fast.
